It's that time of year! Busy, busy, busy!

I had another photo shoot this evening. Two adorable sisters who I have had the privilege of watching grow up. And I got to play with the bench again! It sure looks great in the grass, I can't wait to see what it looks like in the sand.

The "D" girls were great- for about 45 mins! Then the kid in them came through got antsy and were ready for it all to be over. I don't blame them! Listening to me direct them for that long would make anybody antsy! Really, they were great!!

Family Fun!

Sunday was a double day!! I shot the twins in the morning and T.H.'s family in the evening!!

What a great family!! Everyone was so sweet and lots of fun! Grandpa was as much of a kid as the kids- and you can see it in his eyes!! It was a little windy but we made the best of it. I brought along the new bench- borrowed from Tracie Taylor! I think it worked perfect for this situation. And thank you C for lugging it around for me!

Sunday in the Park

I had a crazy morning dealing with computer problems! But after lots of prayers and a phone call to my brother who is a "geek", it was all OK! Phew!!

Then it was off to meet the "B" twins for photos in the park. I almost forgot what a joy photographing older kids can be. Not that I don't love the little ones too!! It's just that these girls actually held still!! And they were so sweet and good mannered! It was a beautiful morning at a beautiful park with beautiful twins!

The Smoke Has Cleared!

Yeah!! The smoke is beginning to clear here in South OC and just in time for my photo shoot tonight! We had to reschedual once because the air was too smoky.

The "H" family was another great family to photograph. All 3 girls are adorable! And I love that one is blond, one is dk brunette and one is a redhead!! They were good sports- and a Halloween party afterwards made for good bribery when they decided they didn't want to sit and smile anymore!

What a Cool Maternity Session

I went along with friend and fellow photographer Tracie Taylor on her maternity shoot last Saturday. She had decided to meet up with the mom and dad-to-be at a location we had photographed our girls at over the summer. It is a unique state park with lots of wild field areas.

Tracie has been doing this long enough to have all the cool changes of clothes and ideas to make our mom-to-be look beautiful while creating a one of a kind maternity session! And mom-to-be was a trooper- trugging though fields, climbing fences, changing clothes in the middle of nowhere! I can't wait to hear what she says when she sees them! They are stunning!! A Beautiful Evening!!

It was a great evening to photograph on the beach tonight when I met up with the "S" Family.

"M" has been so sweet with her emails telling me how excited she was to have her family photos done! I was excited to meet her to see if she was as nice in person as in email- and guess what... not only was she just as nice, but her whole family (including the 3 year old who had NO NAP!) were just as sweet!! Even with no nap "C" was a trooper!! I was so bummed that I forgot the lollipops at home!! He really deserved one!

Introducing Mr and Mrs "C"!!

I really enjoyed photographing the new Mr. and Mrs. "C"!! They were relaxed and fun- as were the guests. And my favorite part was that she did something almost exactly the same as I did on my wedding day! "C" if don't remember- ask me. It was cute!!

WOW! What a day!

I had the craziest Saturday!!! Soccer games in the morning for the girls then off to shoot a wedding. Then after that I met up with my hubbie who was at a concert for the surf contest that our surf shop sponsored with Billabong. All that was announced was that Donavon Frankenreiter would be there with special guest. Well, the special guests were: Sugar Ray, Pennywise, Jackson Browne, G Love, Garcia and Honk (they were a big surf band in the 70's)! Pat O'Connell and Rob Muchado also played.
I was lucky enough to still have all my camera gear in the car. So I grabbed my camera and snapped a few.

New Website Almost Ready to Go Live!!

Oh, I'm so close!! Just a few more tweeks to make!!

It's been an interesting last few days putting the whole thing together. Trying to figure out how I want to represent myself to the world is not an easy task! I would really appreciate it if you would leave me a comment here to let me know what you think!

I am in the process of putting together another blog with samples of my specialty items- things such as my book templates, card templates and examples of canvas prints. After your photo session you will be able to link over and take a look at items you can order for your photos. I will post as soon as it's done.

One thing I did notice as I was putting together galleries was my lack of maternity and newborn images. So if you know anyone who is expecting let them know I'm looking for clients. I plan to offer a 50% off session fee special and will be promoting it after the holidays. The offer will be valid from now until February 1st. There will be a bigger post after the holidays.

What a great shoot I had this afternoon! I thought the weather might be ugly- but it turned out great- a little cool, but a great So. Cal fall evening! I thought the kids might be a bit wild from being inside all day at school (those 4 or 5 rain drops we got this afternoon can close a playground here). But I had another nice surprise. The kids were great!

These two were so cute and so sweet and so cooperative! And those eyes! I have a thing for eyes and these two both had incredible eyes!

And they were not only nice to me but to each other! It is so awesome to see a brother and sister who really like each other! My brother and I were always at each other's throats.

Heat wave!!

Ouuu it has been hot here the last few days!! The S family decided to brave the heat and schedual a photo shoot over the weekend. Luckily I know a park that gets a great breeze. We had a lot of fun! The kids were adorable! Full of energy and fun! Here are a few from our session:

Getting Ready for Christmas!

It feels so wrong! With this balmy weather, kids not yet back in school and the sun not setting until after 7:00 it is still totally summer. But in order to call myself "prepared" I've spent the last few day figuring out and working on CHRISTMAS CARD templates!! The plan is to offer two or three double sided 5x5 flat cards, two or three 5x5 traditional folded cards, two or three 5x7 double sided cards, two or three traditional folded cards and two or three single sided photo cards. Maybe even some 4x8 photo cards too?? They will come with envelopes and the messages can be changed. These will be offered at a discount to anyone who has had a session with me since January.

On the topic of Christmas- don't wait to book your session!! Spaces are starting to filling up and there will be a cut off date for all cards!!

We did the engagement session for the wedding I will be doing at the end of September. What an awesome night!! Obviously I wasn't the only photographer to think so because the first spot we tried had 5 other photographers squished into 50 yards of beach! So we headed to a secret spot I know and got lucky- it was us and the beachgoers.
