Baby Mateo~ Little Rock Climber

Little Baby Mateo, such a cute little guy. Mom and Dad are super active and enjoy mountain climbing and asked if I could incorporate some of their climbing gear into his photos. We had a good time trying to get the hardware to hang behind him. This little guy was full of energy and wasn't into sleeping for more than a few minutes at a time. Perfect personality to keep up with Mom and Dad once he gets mobile.

Rustic Family Photos~ Starting Off the Christmas Photo Season

I love it when families are ahead of the game and want to get their holiday photos out of the way long before they start their holiday shopping. But then again, the Smisko Family is used to being prepared. As a food blog writer (her blog is Imperfect & Fabulous, Tales of a Recovering Perfectionist- click to link), Lauren is used to being ahead of the game. And with such an adorable family, it was my pleasure to start off the holiday season with them.

Happy Birthday Degan~ Outdoors Cake Smash

You may remember this sweet little rolly polly boy from his 6 months photos in the Spring. He loves being outside, so we decided to do his one year photos at a local outdoor area. Mom brought along balloons and I supplied the cake. Unfortunately, it was pretty windy and the balloons didn't fare so well- balloons and the rustic outdoors don't mix well.
We were having a great time and getting some adorable photos until we tired to get Degan to touch the cake. Once again, it didn't go over so well. Its amazing how many kids cry over cake. I cry when I don't get any! LOL

Cake Smash- Number Two!

This little cutie pie is celebrating her 2nd cake smash with me! Its so fun to watch the little ones grow! I have photographed her as a newborn, at Christmas time and other holidays, at her 1st birthday and now for her 2nd birthday. Love it!
The funny thing is, she wasn't much more excited about eating cake this time then she was at her first birthday cake smash, when she cried through most of the session!

Baby Thomas~ At Home Session

This sweet guy is the same that I photographed in the hospital for his Fresh 48 session. Well, two weeks later I went to visit him for a Home Session. We were lucky and he slept really good! Maybe because it was so hot outside and I had the portable heater blowing on him on top of that. I don't think mom and dad were thrilled that I turned his room into a sauna! But he sure was happy. The only time he really gave us greif was when we tried to do the photo of him on his Grandpa's comparative football that mom had her parents ship in so that we could do photos. Apparently Grandpa played professional football in Canada- pretty cool. The books are all Dad's college books along with his glasses and we also did one with Dad's ties.

A little Behind the Scene- this was my space to work in. Each Home Newborn Session is different! Because I can't bring along my big studio lighting, I need a room with lots of light. Sometimes thats the kitchen, sometimes its a bedroom. We got luck and it was baby's room this time. It was a little squishy, but we got it done!

Welcome Baby Cameron~ Newborn Session

Cameron's little brother was super excited for me to come to their house and photograph them. He couldn't wait to show me his baby brother's room and tell me all about him. He even helped me arrange the golfballs for the photo of Cameron with all the balls (dad is a big golf fan- obviously). The only part he wasn't crazy about was posing for photos with mom and dad when we did some "lifestyle" photos. Baby Cameron on the other hand, did an awesome job and slept most of the session, even when his big brother decided that he should have a few golf balls on his head.

Baby Christian~ Studio Session

Sometime Home Sessions are easier for everyone, some times Studio Sessions are easier. One thing about studio sessions, I can utileze more of my props since I don't have to pack them all into the trunk of my car and lug them into your house! So if props are important, consider a Studio Session over a Home Session. Sometime people don't have the space to accommodate me and all my junk! Another reason for a Studio Session- plus no need to clean up the house.
This adorable little guy came to see me at my little studio about two weeks after we did his in hospital photos. He was a trouper and barely cried the whole time he was here. Good job little Christian!
